Swiss Chard!

June 2nd, 2014

This morning I decided to plant Swiss Chard, a personal favourite of mine for several reasons. I often use it to replace the cabbage in my cabbage rolls, the flavour you get from cooking it with tomatoes, onions and your choice of local meat is unbelievable.

Blanching Swiss Chard for 3-5 minutes is a quick and easy way to serve up those greens we need so much! If your vegan or vegetarian, this leaf is packed with delicious flavour.

Swiss Chard is not a boring green, it comes in red, orange and white as well!

This is a plant that produces tender leaves until the frost comes, and one of those vegetables that the kids love!

What did you plant today?
