Sheppard Peppers & Celery!

June 4th, 2014

This is my 5th day of planting and I am not done yet! When  thinking about what vegetables to plant,  try to have a garden that will produce throughout the season. If you planted egg plants and peppers you would be waiting all summer to enjoy your personal endeavors.

Having a variety of seasonal vegetables will most certainly make a more productive and sustainable garden for everyone to enjoy!

The Shepperd Peppers, even thought they are flowering now will take some time grow. A vegetable like celery is something I can use for months until the frost hits. You can take a stalk or two as it grows and use it in soups, stews, burgers and salads!

Although celery is sold as a vegetable, it is simply an aromatic plant with hollow stems… I personally use it more like a herb for it’s flavour than a vegetable. Especially the leafy tops!

For the past 5 days I have planted a variety of vegetables that we can enjoy as quickly as yesterday and enjoy for the entire growing season. There is still more to come!

What did you plant today?
